What is BodyTite™?

BodyTite™ is a body remodeling procedure which removes unwanted fat cells, re-contours the area and at the same time firms your skin. BodyTite™ may well revolutionize the world of body contouring and plastic surgery. Early studies show that BodyTite™ assisted liposuction tightens the skin up to 40% more than traditional liposuction.

About BodyTite™:

What Does That Mean to You:

  • 40%-50% tightening means amazingly better results
  • It means we can do more aggressive liposuction on areas where the skin is looser because we know we can cause significant contraction to bring in that loose skin once it is emptied of unwanted fat…better for inner thighs, upper arms, loose tummies!
  • Great for secondary liposuction in areas where you want a little bit more but the skin is loosening
    • Less bruising = less down time, probably no bruising at one week!

Why is it Different Than Regular Lipo?

Traditional liposuction uses a cannula to suction out fat cells. BodyTite* uses the same motion as traditional liposuction but the fat is safely heated (emulsified) which allows suctioning with greater ease and less trauma to the surrounding tissues. This controlled heating creates connective tissue and skin tightening never before available to patients!

How is it different than SmartLipo™?

“SmartLipo™” is a laser assisted liposuction that does show more tightening than traditional liposuction techniques. This was the real advancement that laser assisted liposuction taught us. The problem was that the laser fiber is not an efficient way to heat the underlying tissue and the current systems do not allow simultaneous aspiration(removal) of the emulsified fat…..so the procedure is almost twice as long and not nearly as effective in evenly heating all connective tissue. In early studies comparing the two techniques the tightening effect with BodyTite™ is 2-4 times as effective as SmartLipo* and probably twice as fast.

The Power of tightening:

  • Traditional liposuction show skin contraction of approximately 5-7%
  • SmartLipo™ shows skin contraction of 8-15%
  • BodyTite™ shows skin contraction of 40-50%.

What is recovery time?

Liposuction patients with the BodyTite™ technique have significant decrease in bruising, swelling, and discomfort with a faster recovery. You can be back at work in two or three days. We ask patients to wear a post surgical garment to assist in shaping and reducing swelling. You will feel sore for the first week but nothing worse than a strenuous workout. You will be able to go about your usual activities except we will not let you work out for a week.
